Early Christmas Present / Wreath

We let David open one present early this year after we set up the tree. It was the Little People Nativity set from my mom. He has really enjoyed playing with it, although sometimes he is funny about not wanting any people besides Jesus inside the stable.

-------------------------------
I made my first handmade wreath. I think it turned out pretty good. Ever since we started buying real trees I said I wanted to make a wreath out of the clippings Lanny cut off the bottom, but (9 years later) this is the first. Hopefully there will be more in the years to come.

Thanksgiving 2010

We headed to Blowing Rock, NC for Thanksgiving. Despite the flu bug going around, we somehow managed to stay healthy and had a great time.
David really enjoyed seeing Opa's train set.
David and Madi licking off the mixers in Granna's kitchen. David enjoyed eating popcorn, watching movies, and dancing around the living room with his cousins.

I think the highlight of the weekend for David was riding in Uncle Sid's tractor with his cousins. He has been really interested in tractors lately and I am sure this was like a dream some true for him.

Lanny and David swinging in the backyard

Random pictures and Bowling

Here is David in his room. He has a train table, but prefers to build the train tracks on the floor. Lamb, David and Jaime watching a movie.
We took David bowling on Saturday, April 3. He had the best time. The ball took forever to hit the pins and even with the gutter guards on he still managed to get a few gutter balls. He also had the pin actually bounce off a pin without knocking it over.

The ball rolled much faster once we got the ramp for him to use. Final Score.
David got a new golf club. Here he is practicing with Lanny.

Parker's Birthday Party February 2010

David and Parker enjoying birthday cake. David actually asked me to call "Aunt Dawn" and ask her if they were going to have cake at Parker's birthday party the week before. He was very concerned about it. David and Parker dressed like twins.

David and Lamb

David has had this lamb since he was very young. It was a gift from Beverly, who Lanny used to work with at LifeWay in Cary. He never really played with it much (he was more into cars) until this one day. He picked her up and carried her around with him pretty much all day. He showed her how to jump on the trampoline and even read books to her. I asked him what her name was and he said, "Girl." It was so sweet!

February Snowstorm

We got a snowstorm in mid February. David wanted to go play in the snow so we dressed him all up and let him play. He had a great time making snowballs.
Our house covered in snow.

David slipped on the ice. He was fine and even ended up laying down on the ice playing.
More snowballs.
David got out his dump truck and filled it with snow. Then we made snowballs and filled the back with snow balls.
We built a snow bear.

Christmas in Florida in February

We headed to Florida at the end of January / beginning of February to celebrate Christmas down there (in the warmth) with David's Grandma, Grandpa, GiGi, Aunt Dawn, Uncle Zac, and cousin Parker. We had a very busy week, but had a lot of fun. David and Parker both loved the piano.
David got a new book for Christmas from Aunt Dawn and had to have it read to him several times.
We spent a day at Disney.
David got to meet Mickey & Minnie Mouse, but he seemed kind of scared of them.
David loved the barn stormer roller coaster ride.
He also enjoyed the playground, but I think he enjoyed the benches more.

He liked the people mover ride at the Magic Kingdom.
And the monorail. It was a rainy day, but the lines were short for the most part. We walked right onto Pirates of the Caribbean. David also liked both Toy Story rides.
David wearing his 3D glasses.
David meeting Lightning McQueen and Mater again. Again we was scared by the loud revving engines.
David driving the train at the park near mom and dad's house.
David and Parker.
David on the swing.
David and Parker with Grandpa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
We spent a day at the Florida State Fair. Here is David in a helicopter.
David loved the model train exhibit. He even ran away from us to go back in after we had left.
David petting an animal. (I can't remember what type of animal this was and can't quite tell from the picture.)
Then David spotted the tractors. He loves tires and anything with wheels, but he was really impressed by the size of these wheels.
David and Parker sitting in the front loader.

David squeezing his own orange juice. He picked out the orange, squeezed it and drank the juice all by himself (with a little help from dad.)

Eating home made butter.
