"Curious" David

I know everyone thinks their child is a genius, but mine truly is...
The other morning after Lanny left for work (wearing a tie), David found this ribbon in my bedroom and proceeded to place it under his chin and say "Tie like Daddy." It was so cute! He wanted to wear his "tie" so badly that I ended up tying it around his neck before we left for the bank. He wore that thing around his neck at the bank and the grocery store.

He got this computer from his Aunt Dawn for his birthday. He loves playing the uppercase & lowercase letter games and even gets some of the trickier activities right like press the missing letter in the word. He really likes playing on his computer like mommy & daddy.

The other night we were watching the new Curious George movie. In one scene Curious George (a monkey) takes a magnifying glass and uses it to look at a spider. David saw that, walked into our office, opened the top drawer in the desk and took took out one of my grandfather's magnifying glasses. He walked back into the living room holding it up to his eye with the biggest grin on his face. Lanny and I were shocked. First of all, he made the connection between what he saw on tv and something we actually had and second of all he remembered where it was even though I don't think he has looked in that drawer in months. A little while later he went back into the office and got the second magnifying glass out of the same drawer. He walked back into the living room like this:

David & Parker

David's cousin, Parker, came to visit for David's birthday.
They had fun playing outside on the swingset, playing in the pool, taking a bath and readin books.

David's 2nd Birthday - a little late

David had a Lightning McQueen themed 2nd Birthday Party on June 13. He loves Lightning McQueen and I found some really good deals on party decorations so McQueen and his pals were everywhere at our house. Here's his birthday cake (which I made.) His friends Michael, Caleb, Wes, & cousin Parker came to the party along with their parents and David's Grandpa & Grandma from Florida. He had a great time playing with his friends and got a lot of great presents.
He blew out the candle on his cake in one blow. We were pretty impressed. We gave him a cupcake with white frosting to eat, because I was not too sure about how he would do with red frosting (since it stains.) He really enjoyed wiping the frosting off with his finger and then licking his finger. He did finally eat some of the cupcake.

After opening presents and eating cake David, Parker & Michael played outside on the swingset (and the new ladder Daddy & Grandpa built for it.) David also enjoyed his new book (over & over & over again), his Mack truck from G.G. and his Cars racetrack.
