S-no

David learned a new word yesterday, "snow" or as he says it s-no a hard "s" followed by the word "no." We got about 3 inches of snow at our house. I had a delay at work and ended up not going in and Lanny's office was closed for the day so we stayed home and played in the snow with David.
Here he is all dressed and ready to go.

Here is our house coated in snow.
David had a great time playing in the snow and we enjoyed watching him.

We decided it was time to go in when Lanny hit him with a snowball and he started crying. (To Lanny's credit he didn't mean to hit him.)
David also learned to say toes and nose this week.

New Year's

The day after Christmas we headed back to our house from Blowing Rock, unpacked the car, packed up the car again and left for Florida to visit my family. It was a long drive and even though David didn't sleep as well as we had hoped, once we put on his CD (Andrew Peterson's Slugs & Bugs - I highly recommend it) he was at least quiet and happy.

We got to my parent's house between 1 and 2 am and went to bed after unloading the car.

While we were there, David had everyone read him his favorite book, Cars.

On Monday, we visited some friends from Raleigh who lie a little over an hour from my parents. It was great to see them again. Here's Lanny and David playing the ukulele. One morning David woke up before we were ready to get up, so I got him out of the pack n' play to let him play for awhile until we were ready to get up. I had to lock the door so he wouldn't wake everyone else up since he learned how to open these doors. He grabbed Lanny's watch and put it on like a bracelet and took Lanny's keys and tried to unlock the door. He is growing up way too fast!!

We celebrated Christmas while we were down there.
David "helped" Parker open some of his gifts. David also enjoyed showing Parker how to play with some of his new presents.

David and Parker did play really well together for the most part. Here David is giving Parker a hug.
We took the boys to the park. I think David has a better time than Parker. He really enjoyed the swing.

We went to Disney on Jan 2. Parker's first time (since birth) and David's second. Parker went last Thanksgiving with us as well, but wasn't yet born.

Here David and Parker are in their strollers on the way to the monorail.

We then took a train, which David really enjoyed.

The boys did really well. They seemed to enjoy themselves for the most part. They even took a nice little nap so we could ride the Aerosmith ride. (My mom volunteered to watch them while we waited in line.)
We broke down and bought a kid leash for David (one of those things I said I would never do) and amazingly he did not fuss about wearing it. It allowed him to walk freely and us to keep him close by. David's favorite part was the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground area.

Christmas

Here is David's Christmas picture. I love this innocent look he has on his face. He was actually climbing on the chair and Lanny was trying to tell him to sit down, but he still looks so peaceful. David enjoyed the Seminary Christmas party. He stayed up way past his bedtime, but had a good time. Christmas morning we ate monkey bread.
Then we opened our presents. David got a new bike. His legs aren't quite long enough to reach the pedals, but it shouldn't be too long before he is able to ride it around. He enjoyed pushing it around the living room anyway. He was even able to sit on it and figured out how to walk/push it around.
David also got some new toy cars (police car, fire truck and a dump truck.) He loves these cars. He carries them with him everywhere. He has learned the sign for policeman and he points to the police car and does the sign. He's so smart!!
He also got a big toy truck.
And a potty chair. Hopefully we will be learning to use this soon. Any potty training advice would be appreciated.
After lunch we packed up the car and headed to Blowing Rock to spend a little time with Lanny's family and celebrate Christmas with them. It was great to see everyone even though it was a quick trip.
